Our Story: Solano Connected
Solano Connected officially launched in Fall 2023, funded by the American Rescue Plan Act. In preparation for the launch, the Solano County Department of Information teamed up with Boston Consulting Group (BCG) in 2022 to conduct a needs assessment. The study revealed that 6,600 households in Solano County lacked a computer and that 12,300 were without home internet, primarily due to affordability, accessibility, and digital skills barriers.
Tech Exchange and Community Tech Network, have been providing free devices, digital skills training, tech support, and assistance with low-cost internet enrollment. All of these services are offered in multiple languages and in various locations across the County.

Additionally, Solano Connected provided grants to various community-based organizations, or CBOs, to support them with their unique digital equity efforts. Check out our full list of partners here.
