Community Tech Network
Community Tech Network (CTN) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming lives through digital equity. Since 2008, CTN has provided culturally-appropriate digital skills training in multiple languages to older adults and members of marginalized communities in public libraries, low-income housing developments, senior centers, schools, and social service agencies. Since 2020, CTN has also offered remote technology classes, thereby reaching those who are homebound or live in very rural areas.
In addition to these services, CTN distributes devices (tablets and computers), provides multilingual tech support (through in-person workshops, drop-in hours, and virtual Q&A sessions) and helps people sign up for low-cost home internet.
Wanting to share its expertise, CTN recently developed online courses and training for trainers to support organizations as they launch their own digital equity initiatives or improve their already-existing ones. CTN also licenses technology class curricula, including lesson plans and workbooks, which are available in over a dozen languages.
CTN joined Solano Connected in 2024 and plans to serve over 400 older adults throughout the County by teaching them digital skills through group classes, one-on-one training, or workshops, depending on participants’ unique needs. Additionally, CTN will train staff members and volunteers from at least six partner organizations throughout Solano County, equipping them with the skills needed to address the digital divide within their communities and thereby ensuring the sustainability of its efforts.
CTN’s headquarters are located in San Francisco, California, and Austin, Texas. For more information, visit: https://www.communitytechnetwork.org/
