4th Annual MLK Celebration
Vacaville People’s Forum is excited to host its fourth annual MLK Day of Celebration in collaboration with the Solano County Black Chamber of Commerce and City Councilmember Greg Ritchie.
We will celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. from 12 p.m. (noon) to 2 p.m. Monday, January 15, 2024, at the Ulatis Community Center, 1000 Ulatis Drive, Vacaville. This event is free to attend and will be held rain or shine.
The event to feature a keynote speech by Maurice “Mo” Arnold of Mo_losophy, LLC, DJ John Laxa of Premier 6 Events, a dance performance by Bliss Urban Arts Center, information by local non-profit organizations, poetry readings, and presentations from local elected and community leaders.
Following the tradition of previous years, youth of all ages are being invited to take part in a public reading of the “I Have A Dream” speech delivered by Dr. King to an audience of more than 250,000 civil rights supporters on August 28, 1963, as they gathered at the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom.
